LeT commander behind Pahalgam attack resurfaces at anti-India rally in Pakistan

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Saifullah Kasuri, the alleged mastermind of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, made a provocative public appearance in Pakistan, sharing the stage with political leaders and wanted terrorists at a rally organised by the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML). The rally, held in Kasoor to mark Youm-e-Takbeer, witnessed inflammatory speeches and anti-India slogans.

Kasuri, also known as Khalid, openly boasted about his notoriety, saying, “I was blamed as being the mastermind of the Pahalgam terror attack, now my name is famous in the entire world.” He is accused of orchestrating the massacre in Pahalgam’s Baisaran meadow where 26 people, mostly Hindu men, were killed by members of The Resistance Front, a proxy of LeT.

Also present was Talha Saeed, son of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed and a designated terrorist. Talha, who has been politically active under the PMML banner, delivered a fiery speech laced with jihadist slogans and called for Hafiz Saeed’s release, while invoking the Indus Waters Treaty as a cause for protest against India.

India has condemned Pakistan for continuing to mainstream terror networks under political façades like PMML. The presence of top LeT operatives at public events has raised fresh concerns about Pakistan’s unwillingness to dismantle terror infrastructure, even after multiple high-value LeT targets were eliminated in India’s Operation Sindoor.
